What does a great HR pro look like?
Of course, they have a solid understanding of the knowledge we need in the HR profession: laws, regulations, recruiting, compensation, etc.; But there are many other intangibles:
- Tact
- Discretion
- Outgoing and friendly personality
- A role model for other professionals
Tiffany Kuehl is all of the above and she is a connector. In fact, she was one of the first people to take a chance on me and get me into the Minnesota state SHRM conference as an official HR blogger. Watching her at that conference I first admired her social skills. At any conference or HR event, you will find her walking up to strangers, saying “hi” and talking with them about the conference. She isn’t a “networker”, she is someone who genuinely cares and that comes across when you interact with her.
Then as I got to know her it quickly became obvious that she knew her HR stuff too. I’ve worked with her professionally at PIC and had the pleasure of hanging out with her over drinks a few times. She is one of the best HR people in our space, she’s social and she has the HR knowledge and experience.
So if you don’t already know her, please connect with her on on Facebook, LinkedIn or Twitter and say Happy Birthday. Cause yea besides being an awesome person, it’s her birthday today too!
