I will pause for my audience to make faces, ask why, tell me I’m going in the wrong direction and act as if I announced I’m moving to the 6th circle of hell…
Yes, I’m moving to THAT Cleveland (not Cleveland TN):
– Voted one of the most miserable cities in the U.S. by Forbes magazine
I guess to say I’m moving is incorrect, I’m actually boomeranging back to Cleveland. I spent most of my childhood and adolescence growing up in a suburb just outside the city, went to college and got my first job there. My husband and I left for the same reason many people leave the rust belt: better jobs and better weather.
But some funny things happened along the way further south: we missed Cleveland. Family and good friends were a huge part of the decision but we also missed the cooler summers, great restaurants and the gritty, down-to-earth-ness that is Cleveland.
On the work front, nothing much will change except I’ll be telecommuting. I plan to write a book about my experiences titled: HR Without Pants.
Surely a New York Times bestseller…stay tuned!
